'A visit with friends" by Kate Florence. 

This body of work from the collection 'Metamorphosis' is in response to Kates time spent in an intense solo 3-month rural retreat. An emotionally charged time of soft contemplation and solitude, this work explores the depths of the darkness and light of where the mind can take us, the importance of solitude, and questions the continuum of inner transformation, internal evolution and emotional growth. This collection is a heartfelt deeply emotional body of work, that represents feelings of the past few months that words do not describe. A transcript for the emotionally weighted experience of the artist meeting and exploring parts of herself through paint.

Kate combines colour with line work, in an intuitive process, creating conversation through colour and form, her expressiveness is revealed through the fluid application of paint, her focus tuned into the emotive response of colour.
