A solitary figure, half-formed and drifting, sits suspended in a sea of brushed gold — a memory caught between fading and holding on. I Used To Surf is a meditation on identity, erosion, and the parts of ourselves we leave behind as life pulls us into new tides.

The surfer, rendered almost like an echo, feels both present and disappearing. Their board stretches forward, pointed toward something unseen, while the gold surface around them holds the scratches, movements, and scars of time.

This piece captures the stillness that comes after years of motion, a quiet reflection on the rituals that once defined us, the versions of ourselves we carry, and the ones we lose.
