Song For The Mute
'Song For The Mute' by Kate Florence.
Kate's practice is a lively exploration that marries classical and abstract. Over the years Kate’s work has evolved from textiles to line drawings and now her work is currently exploring paint. Her focus and fascination have always been the human form and the many ways it can be portrayed, it can be both playful and emotional at the same time.
In this collection of works Kate has focused on stripping back to working with just one colour, to create clean and flowing forms, her choice of deep Prussian blue is associated with, freedom, intuition, imagination and sensitivity. Kate often works without much of an outcome in mind, this allows the creativity to flow through her freely without expectation, each work is an emotional journey in which she explores with paint.
